The Heart of Missouri United Way is excited to offer local non-profit organizations the chance to enhance their capacity through the ASPIRES project. One part of this project is quarterly capacity building information sessions, which are open to any local nonprofit organization. Our first session, provided by Partner for Better, will be a one-hour-long presentation on volunteer recruitment and engagement.

Event Details:

Connecting Community: how to recruit, engage, and retain volunteers for your organization
Join us for a dynamic workshop on recruiting, engaging, and retaining volunteers to drive your organization's mission forward. In this interactive session, participants will gain practical insights and strategies to optimize their volunteer management processes, ensuring a strong connection between the organization and its community.

Participants will learn how to:
  • Create a realistic volunteer recruitment and engagement strategy using organizational strengths
  • Find volunteers that align with your mission and current capacity
  • Make the most of your volunteer relationships
Who this is for:
  • Any nonprofit employee or board member who manages volunteers
  • It is first come, first serve for the first two registrants from an organization. If more than two people from an organization register, the additional registrants will be added to a waitlist and invited to the event if the space is not filled 2 business days before the event.
Format of the information:
  • In- person workshop with a powerpoint presentation, opportunity for Q&A, and in-session work time
  • All participants will receive an action planning worksheet that will help them determine their organizational needs, set goals, create an effective strategy, and measure progress.
